Why Fractal?
Brainstorming names for the festival we said Fractal and loved the musicality of it.

We read Isaac Asimov's short story "Robot Dreams", about a robot whose brain was modified with a fractal geometry algorithm to make his brain patterns closer to that of the humans, and that, unexpectedly, allowed the robot to dream.

In a recent conversation with Benoît Mandelbrot (father of fractal geometry), MoMA's curator Paola Antonelli said, "The power of fractals is that they’re so instinctive. They’re immediately graspable even without knowing there’s a geometric law behind them." Fractal festival is directed to a general audience, so you don't have to be an expert to enjoy it.

Areas so diverse as architecture, arts, physics, music, design, literature and engineering, they all have something to say about fractals. And Fractal festival looks for / motivates / cause a dialog about different topics between these varied disciplines.
